Specifications

Dytran model 3214A is a versatile uniaxial IEPE piezoelectric accelerometer designed for general-purpose vibration monitoring in automotive, aerospace, and industrial testing environments. It is part of the Dytran 3214 series, which includes variants with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) capabilities for smart sensor integration.

The 3214A is widely used in modal analysis, Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) studies, and Squeak & Rattle testing. With selectable sensitivities of 10 mV/g or 500 mV/g and corresponding measurement ranges of 5000 m/s² or 100 m/s², the sensor accommodates both high-impact and low-level vibration diagnostics.

Its frequency response from 1 Hz to 10 kHz, supported by a resonance frequency of 36 kHz, ensures accurate signal capture across a broad dynamic range. The sensor features stud mounting for secure installation and operates in temperatures from –55 °C to 120 °C. Weighing just 11 g, the 3214A is ideal for lightweight setups and portable test rigs.
