Overview

Dytran model 4122B is a rack-mountable, line-powered signal conditioner and amplifier designed to power and process signals from up to six IEPE sensors. Each channel provides constant current excitation to operate the sensor’s internal amplifier, decouples the DC bias via a coupling capacitor, and applies selectable voltage gain in steps of x1, x10, or x100.

The front panel includes six toggle switches for individual gain control, six BNC output jacks for amplified signals, and a rotary selector switch for choosing a channel to monitor. A front-mounted voltmeter displays the DC bias voltage, aiding in fault detection for cables and sensors. A dedicated BNC “monitor” jack allows oscilloscope access to the input signal of the selected channel.

The rear panel mirrors the front outputs with six parallel BNC jacks, along with six sensor input jacks, a fuse holder, and a standard 3-wire AC power cord. The 4122B is ideal for lab environments, multi-sensor test benches, and permanent installations requiring scalable IEPE support with integrated gain control and diagnostics.
