Overview

Dytran model 4119B is a specialized current source power unit and amplifier designed to support the 3120BK back-to-back accelerometer calibration system. It features a triple-voltage DC power supply (+15 V, –15 V, +20 VDC) and a constant current diode that delivers stable excitation to the IC amplifier inside the 3120B sensor.

The accelerometer signal is coupled through a 10 µF capacitor into a two-stage amplifier. The first stage is a precision attenuator that sets the system sensitivity to exactly 10.00 mV/g, ensuring consistent calibration output. The second stage corrects the frequency response, providing a flat output across the full operating bandwidth.

A front-panel voltmeter displays the quiescent bias voltage (~+10 VDC) present at the sensor jack, serving as a valuable diagnostic tool for identifying cable faults or sensor issues. The 4119B is engineered for high-accuracy calibration environments where signal integrity and repeatability are critical.
